The Halsted Mosquito Artery Forceps offers a wide assortment of advantages during surgery. Its main use is to provide an atraumatic way to compress arteries and veins to block blood flow. For this purpose, the instrument features a pair of jaws with a tapered design to easily traverse narrow passages. In addition, the opposing surfaces of the jaws have serrations to obtain a solid but atraumatic grip. Also, the shafts’ elongated profile helps to reach deep surgical sites.
